1.16.40 Update in Minecraft - What's it all about


 1.16.40 update came in to Minecraft Bedrock Edition,  as a minor game-update. The update was released to different platforms,  in order to fix some bugs and issues. 

It was first released for PlayStation 4, on August 26, 2020, and later on Nintendo Switch, Fire TV,  iOS, iPadOS, in September, 2020.

This is considered as the last update version for Gear VR and Windows 10 Mobile. 

This update came to to fix some in-game bugs. Here is list to of the issues that the update fixed. 

1.16.40 update in-game fixes

1. Sign-in issue on Nintendo Switch 
The update targeted and fixed the Microsoft account sign-in problem; where sign-in screen repeatedly and continuously appeared after losing internet connection on Nintendo Switch (MCPE-95651).

2. Account linking issue on PlayStation 4
The update also addressed an issue with account linking. It fixed account linking, which was occurring every time the game is launched after playing another game on PlayStation 4.

3. Sign-in button issue
It also solved an issue witg sign-in button, where an issue with the account sign-in button becoming unresponsive got fixed. 

4. Crash issues on iOS devices 
It also solved an issue, where the game crashed several times. Hence, it fixed a number of crashes on iOS devices (MCPE-96184).

The 1.16.40 update was released from Mojang Studios, Microsoft for Bedrock Edition only. It included several platforms which supported Bedrock Edition of the game. 

It successfully played its role in addressing some minor problems,  such as account linking issues,  sign-in problems, crash issues, and sign-in button problems.
