What makes Enchanted Golden Apples over-powered food in Minecraft

 Enchanted Golden Apples were introduced in 1.3.1 update. They are a variant of normal Golden Apples with enhanced effects. 

They are also known as Notch Apples, God Apples, or EGAPs in short. Enchanted Golden Apples are considered as one of the rarest materials in the game. Additionally, Notch Apples can't be crafted, making it even more difficult to obtain. 

How to obtain Enchanted Golden Apples? 

Enchanted Golden Apples or EGAPs can be found inside the chests in different structures of the game. 

In Java Edition, they are found in Dungeons (3.1%), Mineshafts (1.4%), Bastiom Renmant (6.5%), Desert Temple (2.6%), Ruined Portal (1.5%), and Woodland Mension (3.1%) per one chest. 

Whereas, in Bedrock Edition, they are found in Dungeons (3.1%), Mineshafts (1.4%), Desert Temple (2.6%), Ruined Portal (1.5%), and Woodland Mension (3.1%) per one chest. 

What are uses of Enchanted Golden Apples?

In Minecraft, Enchanted Golden Apples are used for various and epic purposes. It can be eaten for greater effects, or can be fed to other passive mobs. 

Super Effects or Powers:

When players eat Enchanted Golden Apples, they'll be blessed with some effects.

EGAPs provide Absorption IV (2 minutes),  Regeneration for 30 seconds (level II in Java, level V in Bedrock),  Fire Resistance I (5 minutes),  and Resistance I for 5 minutes. 

These super effects may come in handy when fighting dangerous mobs, such as the Wither Boss. 

To speed up the growth of animals:

Passive mobs such as baby Horses, Donkeys, and Mules or Foals, can be fed Notch Apples to speed up their growth for 4 minutes. 

To tame animals:

Players can increase the taming chances of Horse, Donkeys, or Mules by 10%. Since, feeding Enchanted Golden Apples can increase the chances of taming the particular animals. 

To breed animals:

Notch's Apples can also be used to breed Horses, and Donkeys in the game. Nevertheless, keep in mind that Mules can be fed Enchanted Golden Apples, but they cannot be bred. 

Hence, Enchanted Golden Apple, or God Apple,  or Notch Apple, or EGAP, is a rare but powerful item in the game;  and it can be used for various purposes, ranging from gaining power or taking care of animals.
