All about the cute Parrots in Minecraft

Parrots come into the category of passive mobs in Minecraft. These beautiful and flying mobs are tameable as well. Parrots were added into the game in 1.12 update. They are considered as one of the cute mobs in the game.

How do the Parrots appear in game?

In game, parrots are cute little with colourful variants. However, their eyes, beak and feet colour is common in every variant.

Where do the Parrots spawn?

Parrots spawn in Jungle biomes on grass blocks, leaves, or logs. They usually spawn in a cluster of 1-2.

Interesting behavior of Parrots

In game, Parrots can fly, hence they take no fall damage.

When a player moves through a tamed parrot, it might perch on the player's shoulder. Two parrots can sit on a player's each shoulder.

Parrots can imitate idle sounds of nearby certain mobs,  if they come within the range of 20 blocks.

When a player inserts a disc into the jukebox, it will make the parrots dance. In Minecraft Bedrock Edition, parrots can dance when perched on player's shoulders.

In real life, it has proven that chocolate is toxic ro parrots. And, the same concept applies in the game as well. In Minecraft Java Edition, a parrot will die if fed a cookie,  whereas in Bedrock Edition,  it will get fatal poison effect instantly.

How to tame a parrot?

In order to tame parrots, you have to feed them wheat seeds, melon seeds, pumkin seeds,  or beetroot seeds.  There is 1/3 chance for a parrot to be tamed when fed once.

Like other tames, parrots follow the player until they are made sit by interaction. They can teleport to the player within a certain range.

How to breed Parrots?

Parrots in Minecraft, do not have baby forms and they cannot be bred.

This was all about the cute, flying, passive, and tameable mobs, the Parrots. If you want to start a parrot party, you can always find them in Jungle. biomes.
