Something amazing about Endermites in Minecraft

Endermites are the smallest hostile mobs in the game. They first appeared in 1.8 update of Minecraft. Although, they look small and weak, but in reality they are hostile and can deal damage to players.

These small mobs have the health of only 8 hearts, hence they can be killed by players with ease, even they'll only take 4 hits with a wooden sword.

In the game, there are several facts for players to know about these purple mobs. And, today we'll be discussing all these one by one.

How do Endermites appear?

Being the smallest mobs in the game, players might confuse it with Silver Fish. However, these mobs are different and appear purple in colour. And, they are having a big red eye in the center, and some pink particles emitting out from their bodies.

Originally, Endermites had a pink tail similar to Silver Fish, with a small black part on the tip of the tail. And, they had two eyes which were black in colour. Nevertheless, in the new design, the tail is reduced and the two eyes are narrowed down to one giant red.

How to spawn Endermites?

Endermites can be spawned artificially in the game, either in the overworld, Nether, or the End. To spawn Endermites, players have to aim and throw ender pearls. Ender pearls, when thrown and landed, are having 5% of chances for Endermites to spawn at the thrown location.

However, there is one thing for players to keep in mind that they might despawn when a player moves away from them for almost 2 minutes. But, if named, they will not despawn in the game, until the game mode or difficulty is set to peaceful.

Negligible drop/loot

Endermites, when killed by a player or a tamed wolf, do not drop anything rare. Instead, they drop only 3 experience orbs.

What do the Endermites attack?

An Endermite can attack a player within the range of 16 blocks. Like Silver Fish, if any one member of their colony is hurt by any other mob or player, all the Endermites will attack him.

In Minecraft Bedrock Edition, they can attack iron Golems within 16 blocks. And, when spawned with an egg, they might attack nearby Endermen as well.

Mobs that don't like Endermites

In the game, Enderman hates the Endermites and try to kill them whenever they spot the purple, small mobs. Whether you spawn an Endermite with a spawn egg or by ender pearls, they are at risk of being attacked, when near to an Enderman.

This rude behaviour of Enderman towards the Endermites makes it possible to build Enderman farms, where Endermen are lured by these small mobs as bait.

And, this was all about the smallest purple mobs in the game.
