In Minecraft, Pickaxe is a basic tool that mines stone-blocks. The tool is necessary for collecting different resources in the game to increase survival rate of players.
Pickaxe ranges from wooden to Netherite Pickaxe, where only certain Pickaxes are used to break specefic blocks; for example, atleast iron-Pickaxe is needed to break Diamond ores and collect Diamonds, otherwise stone or wooden Pickaxes will not mine that block.
In the game, ability, states, and functioning of any tool can significantly be increased by applying enchantments to it. Therefore, a Pickaxe can be enchanted with different set of enchantments to increase its mining power. Hence, there happens to be total of five (5) enchantments that can be applied to Pickaxes.
1. Silk Touch Enchantment
In
Minecraft, Silk Touch enables players to mine the raw block, instead of the items. Such as, mining a Diamond ore without a Silk Touch Pickaxe drops Diamonds, but if it is mined with Silk Touch, Diamond ore itself can be collected.
Currently, there is only one level for this
enchantment, i.e. Silk Touch I.
Here is a list of objects or blocks that can directly be collected with Silk Touch, otherwise they'll break into items.
The list includes:
Bee Nest,
Beehive, Betroots, Blue Ice, Bookshelf, Cake, Campfire, Carrots, Clay, Coal ore, Cocoa, Coral Blocks, Coral and Coral Fans, Diamond ore, Double Slab, Emerald ore, Ender Chest, Farmland (Dirt block where seeds/crops can be planted), Frosted Ice, Glided Blackstone, Glass and Glass Pane, Glowstone, Grass Block, Grass Path, Gravel (otherwise Flint can be mined as well), Ice, Infested Block (Monster Block), Inverted Daylight Detector, Lapis Lazuli ore, Leaves, Melon, Melon Stem, Monster Spawner, Mushroom Blocks, Mycelium, Nether Gold ore, Nether Quartz ore, Nylium, Nether Wart, Packed Ice, Podzol,

enchantment used to increase the drop chances from mining certain blocks. However, it does not influence the experience drop at all.
There are total of three (3) levels of Fortune, where each level increases the drop amounts of certain blocks.
Fortune I increaes 33% chances for 2 times the drop, level II increases 75% chances for 2 and 25% dor 3 times the original drop. Whereas, Fortune III increases 120% for 2-3 and 20% for 4 times the orginal drop.
For example, a Diamond ore mined with Fortune III, may drop 2-3 Diamonds with 120% chances and 4 diamonds with 20% chances.
Currently, it can be used to mine with increaed drop chances of coal ore, diamond ore, emerald ore, lapis lazuli ore, nether gold ore, nether quartz ore.
